Certificate of Origin is an important document in import-export. It indicates the origin of goods produced in a specific territory or country. If you are an importer, the most important factor is a valid C/O, which will help you enjoy import tax incentives.
Types of Certificates of Origin
There are quite a few types of Certificates of Origin; depending on the specific shipment (what type of goods, departing from/arriving to which country…), you will determine which form you need. Currently, the popular types are as follows:
- C/O Form A (issued for goods exported to countries allowing GSP – Generalized System of Preferences)
- CO Form B (issued for goods originating in Vietnam exported to countries where Vietnam does not enjoy GSP, or has GSP but the shipment does not meet the standards to qualify)
